What is tarot?

Tarot astrology is based upon the wisdom of the ages and has become a popular branch of “fortune telling”. A sensitive Tarot reader understands the energies that surround the answer seeker, hence she can intuitively reveal the probable future or the ramifications that will result from the current trend. Fortune telling through Tarot is essentially an art, a skill that is attained by study and observation, it is also dependent on the intuition of the teller. Tarot mastery can be attained through practice, for a beginner it is best to practise it on himself first, then on his family and friends, before taking it further.

Commonly Tarot consists of a set of seventy-eight cards, each featuring different symbolic pictures. A standard Tarot deck is made up of 22 cards called the major arcana or trumps, and four suits of 14 cards ie 56 cards - similar to playing cards - called the minor arcana or pip cards.

Tarot cards can be used for practical decision making or problem-solving, creative visualisation, introspection, as a tool for self-improvement, for fortune telling, even for card games. Many people collect Tarot cards simply for the joy of owning unique pieces of artwork.
